Tensile Properties of Elastomers - ISO 37

This standard covers a variety of tensile properties for rubber and elastomeric materials. Testing is performed on either dumbbell (Types 1-4) or ring specimens (Types A and B).

Term Definition
Tensile Strain at Break Tensile elongation corresponding to the point of rupture.
Tensile Stress at Break Tensile stress corresponding to the point of rupture.
Yield point The point on the stress-strain curve, where the slope of the curve becomes zero.
Tensile Stress at Yield Tensile stress corresponding to the yield point.
Tensile Stress at 20% Tensile stress at 20% elongation. Also known as "20% Modulus"
Tensile Stress at 100% Tensile stress at 100% elongation. Also known as "100% Modulus"
Tensile Stress at 200% Tensile stress at 200% elongation. Also known as "200% Modulus"
Tensile Stress at 300% Tensile stress at 300% elongation. Also known as "300% Modulus"
