Tensile Properties of Elastomers - ISO 37
This standard covers a variety of tensile properties for rubber and elastomeric materials. Testing is performed on either dumbbell (Types 1-4) or ring specimens (Types A and B).
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Tensile Strain at Break | Tensile elongation corresponding to the point of rupture. |
Tensile Stress at Break | Tensile stress corresponding to the point of rupture. |
Yield point | The point on the stress-strain curve, where the slope of the curve becomes zero. |
Tensile Stress at Yield | Tensile stress corresponding to the yield point. |
Tensile Stress at 20% | Tensile stress at 20% elongation. Also known as "20% Modulus" |
Tensile Stress at 100% | Tensile stress at 100% elongation. Also known as "100% Modulus" |
Tensile Stress at 200% | Tensile stress at 200% elongation. Also known as "200% Modulus" |
Tensile Stress at 300% | Tensile stress at 300% elongation. Also known as "300% Modulus" |
