ALTUGLAS® BS 440 is a methyl-methacrylate based copolymer available in the form of spherical particles (solid beads). Some free methacrylic acid groups are dispersed all along the chain of the copolymer. ALTUGLAS® BS 440 is recommended as low shrinkage additive for Unsaturated Polyester Curable Resin (UPR) in main industrial processes as BMC/SMC. The free acid functions contained in ALTUGLAS® BS 440 offer the specific advantage to react with basic oxides fillers with thickening effect, typical in SMC process of UPR. ALTUGLAS® BS 440 can also be used in acrylic mineral composite to improve the compatibility with some minerals and fillers.

ALTUGLAS® BS 510 is a methyl-methacrylate based copolymer of medium molecular weight available in the form of spherical particles (solid beads). ALTUGLAS® BS 510 is soluble in many organic solvents and monomers. Moreover, it offers a high thermal resistance. ALTUGLAS® BS 510 is a good candidate of choice for binder in Acrylic Composites and Solvent Coating applications. ALTUGLAS® BS 520B is highly recommended as component in low profile additives for Unsaturated Polyester Curable Resins. It can also be used as binder in solvent coating. ALTUGLAS® BS 520B is also typically used in mineral acrylic composite (solid surface, acrylic stone). ALTUGLAS® BS 520B can be used as base resin for the production of acrylic masterbatch compound.

ALTUGLAS® BS 580 offers a good balance of properties in terms of solubility, fluidity and thermal resistance.
