Polyester: Copolyester Elastomer (Ether)

Product Availability Product Description
Arnitel® CMB E1-BK Africa & Middle East
Black Masterbatch, 20% Carbon Black, TPC based DSM offers a complete portfolio of thermoplastic polyester elastomers. These materials, sold under the trade name Arnitel®, combine excellent flexibility at low temperatures (down to -50oC) with good heat resistance. Some Arnitel® grades are not produced in black color. For those grades, DSM offers a black color masterbatch Arnitel® CMB E1-BK, which is based on an Arnitel® carrier and is therefore compatible with all Arnitel® grades. Arnitel® CMB E1-BK can be used for injection molding and extrusion applications.
Arnitel® E1-Heat Africa & Middle East
Heat Stabilizing Masterbatch, 30% Active heat stabilizing ingredients, TPC based DSM offers a complete portfolio of thermoplastic polyester elastomers. These materials, sold under the trade name Arnitel®, combine excellent flexibility at low temperatures (down to -50oC) with good heat resistance. For critical applications, the heat resistance can be further improved by using the Arnitel® E1-HEAT masterbatch. Standard Arnitel® grades have sufficient heat stability for most applications, however some applications like hoses, beltings or seals and gaskets may require an improved heat stability. Arnitel® U and Arnitel® C grades, DSM's thermoplastic polyesterester elastomers with standard heat resistance above 3000 hours at 150°C, need no additional heat stabilization. The figure on the next page shows the reference heat stability and the effect of adding 2.5% of Arnitel® E1-HEAT. In the graphs, the effect of thermo-oxidative ageing at different temperatures (x-axis) on the half life time (HLT) of the elongation at break of ISO 527 1BA tensile bars is given. HLT is defined as the time point where the elongation is 50% of the original value. Arnitel® E1-HEAT can be used for injection molding and extrusion applications. It is based on an Arnitel® carrier and shows good dispersion in any Arnitel® type. Arnitel® E1-HEAT can be used in natural and colored applications. For non-black applications, some discoloration as a result of the stabilizing package has to be taken into account. Not recommended to use in Food contact applications.
Neostar™ FN005 Africa & Middle East
Eastman Neostar™ Elastomer FN005 is a tough, clear, durable, general purpose grade copolyester ether. It was designed for use in the profile and automotive markets, but is also used in packaging and tubing applications where toughness and flex-crack resistance are required. Eastman Neostar™ Elastomer FN005 can be used in injection molding and cast film or tubing extrusion applications or in any application that demands strength, durability, and puncture resistance in harsh environments. This copolyester combines toughness, clarity, and flexibility without the addition of plasticizers. Eastman Neostar™ Elastomer FN005 is considered environmentally preferred because of its non-halogenated material composition. The target inherent viscosity of this product is 1.05. This product has received a Platinum level Material Health Certificate from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. A Material Health Certificate is awarded to products that meet the Material Health requirements of the multi-attribute Cradle to Cradle CertifiedTM Product Standard. The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute is a nonprofit organization that administers the publicly available Cradle to Cradle CertifiedTM Product Standard, which provides designers and manufacturers with criteria and requirements for continually improving product materials and manufacturing processes. The Material Health Certificate provides manufacturers with a trusted way to communicate their efforts to identify and replace chemicals of concern in their products.
