Natur-Tec® BF3002 North America
Natur-Tec® BF3002 is a biobased and biodegradable polymer resin compound and is designed to replace conventional plastic materials for injection molded plastic applications. Natur-Tec® BF3002 is manufactured using sustainable and renewable resources, per the ASTM D6866 standard, which allows industry and consumers the opportunity to reduce or neutralize their carbon footprint. Natur-Tec® resins are engineered for high performance and can easily be processed on conventional manufacturing equipment. Natur-Tec® BF3002 (or BF703B-X, X > 80) is designed to meet requirements of international standards for compostable plastics such as ASTM D6400 (U.S.) and EN13432. Please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet and the Processing Guide for specific handling and processing instructions. Natur-Tec® BF3002 can be used for injection molded plastic applications such as making cutlery, pens, hangers, containers and packaging.
Natur-Tec® BF703B North America
Natur-Tec ® BF703B is a fully biodegradable/compostable biopolymer resin designed specifically for flexible film applications. Natur-Tec resins are fully certified to the stringent requirements of international standards for compostable plastics, such as ASTM D6400, EN 13432 and ISO 17088, and therefore provide an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastics. The Natur-Tec BF703B resin is engineered for high performance and can be easily processed on standard extrusion equipment. Natur-Tec films are strong and tough with excellent heat seal strength, and provide excellent printability. For applications where high barrier properties are required, Natur-Tec films can be easily combined with other substrates in a laminate structure to achieve the desired properties. Spectabio TR grades are developed for balanced to flexible injection molded application where a maximum filler content of natural agricultural by-products is required. Spectabio TR45MB is reinforced with 45 w.-% rice husk (agricultural by-product). Spectabio TR grades are biodegradable in all conditions. - biopolymer compound, rice husk filled - injection molding grade - good impact and elongation values - naturally heat-stable up to 65°C - biodegradable in controlled (e.g. industrial compost) und non-controlled conditions (e.g. landfill, soil, roadside) - food contact safe - dishwasher-ok - can be filled with bamboo powder (B), coffee (C) or wheat husk (W) alternatively - global availability Spectabio TR45MB is a biopolymer compound. The grade is reinforced with 45 w.-% rice husk (agricultural by-product). The material can be filled with bamboo powder, coffee or wheat husk alternatively. Spectabio TR45MB is designed to be completely biodegradable & compostable (microbial and enzymatic degradation) in the targeted disposal environment; it is biodegradable both in controlled (e.g. industrial compost factilities) and in non-controlled (e.g. soil, roadside, landfill) conditions. The grade offers a significant reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional fossil-based plastics. The material exhibits good impact and elongation properties. Part wall-thickness shall be greater than 1.5 mm.
SULAPAC FLOW V1.7 – EX1013 Europe
Sulapac Flow v1.7 is a sustainable extrusion material with outstanding functional properties and a beautiful appearance. The main components are wood from industrial side streams and biodegradable biopolymers. All raw materials are sourced according to a strict sustainability policy and the wood originates from certified forests. Sulapac Flow v1.7 contains 72% USDA certified biobased content, as analyzed according to ASTM D6866 standard under the USDA BioPreferred® Program. As USDA Certified Biobased Product, Sulapac Flow v1.7 has achieved third-party verification of biobased content and has earned USDA certification and approval to display the label. The USDA Certified Biobased Product label is a certification mark of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Sulapac Flow v1.7 material is industrially compostable certified according to BPI (ASTM D6400) and Seedling (EN 13432). Please check the detailed recycling instructions with local authorities. Sulapac Flow v1.7 is safe for both people and the planet. Ecotoxicity and threshold values for heavy metals have been tested according to EN 13432. The material can be digested by naturally occurring microorganisms and does not leave permanent microplastics behind. All raw materials are sourced according to a strict sustainability policy and the wood originates from certified forests. The material is recyclable via industrial composting. Sulapac Premium is safe for both people and the planet: The ecotoxicity and threshold values for heavy metals have been tested according to EN 13432 / ASTM D6400. Sulapac Premium is certified as industrially compostable by Biodegradable Products Institute BPI up to thickness of 4,88 mm. As the compostability of the end product is also dependent on the geometry of product, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the end product to ensure compliance with the regulations. It has low carbon footprint and it does not leave permanent microplastics behind.
