ALCUDIA® LDPE 1970C Amérique du Nord
ALCUDIA® 1970C is a low density polyethylene grade, produced by high pressure autoclave technology, suitable for extrusion coating. Very high drawdown speeds are achieved throughout the extrusion temperature range, and thin coatings are possible at low temperatures. The molecular structure of the polymer produces an excellent clear coating. It has good heat sealability and moisture barrier properties. Its melt characteristics guarantee good adhesion and low neck-in. There are no smoke or odour problems, even at high temperatures. Contains no additives. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS - Extrusion coating. - Coextruded thin film. - Injection moulding. The excellent draw down properties of ALCUDIA® 1970C allow high-speed coatings, up to 850 m/min and 5 g/m² at a maximum extrusion temperature of 330°C. This material has a very low neck-in throughout a wide range of extrusion conditions. Recommended melt temperature range for extrusion coating from 275 to 330°C. Temperature range for coextrusion depending on the processed polymers. Processing conditions should be optimised for each production line.
ALCUDIA® LDPE 1970M Amérique du Nord
ALCUDIA® 1970M is a low density polyethylene grade of medium fluidity intended for those injection moulding applications in which good mechanical and good flow properties are required. Its formulation does not contain additives. ALCUDIA® LDPE CN-102 Amérique du Nord
ALCUDIA® compound CN-102 has been esencially developed for coating of steel pipe using extrusion techniques. Furthermore it is designed for steelpipe coating to comply with the requirements of the DIN-30670 specification standard. CN-102 is a high viscosity high molecular weight low density polyethylene black compound which offers easy processing combined with smooth glossy surface finish, excellent resistance to mechanical deformation and corrosion. The combination of the antioxidant system and minimun of 2.2% well dispersed carbon black used in CN-102 provides the following features: - excellent protection against thermal oxidation during processing. - long term stability. - excellent protection against outdoor weathering. Because of the good mechanical properties and their characteristics, the polyethylene black compound ALCUDIA® CN-102, is designed to produce pipe.
ALCUDIA® LDPE CN-105 Amérique du Nord
ALCUDIA® CN-105 is based on a special low density polyethylene, which provides excellent properties to the final product. It is characterized by its excellent environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR), good processability and low temperature performance. This grade contains well dispersed carbon black in order to ensure good outdoor weather resistance and antioxidant to improve the thermal ageing properties. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Black jacketing of telecommunication cables. ALCUDIA® CN-105 processing conditions depend mainly on the type of extrusion equipment but as a guiding idea, it is recommended a temperature profile between 150 - 210°C. ALCUDIA® LDPE CP-104 Amérique du Nord
ALCUDIA® CP-104 is a natural and cross-linkable compound based on low density polyethylene, specifically designed to be cross-linked by organic peroxide. It contains a special antioxidant to guarantee thermal stability and causes minimum interference with the cross-linking process. The outstanding features of this grade are cleanliness, excellent thermal stability, good processing behaviour, excellent cross-linking efficiency at high speed and smooth surface finish. ALCUDIA® CP-104 is normally supplied in octabins, tankers and van-boxes. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Medium voltage power cable insulation. Processing conditions of ALCUDIA® CP-104 are dependent on formulation and technique employed but it is noteworthy that this grade is suitable to use in a temperature range of 120°C - 130°C. ALCUDIA® CP-104 meets the following standards: ISO 1872 PE KHN 18D022; ASTM D 1248 I,A3 Grade E5.
ALCUDIA® LDPE CP-121 Amérique du Nord
ALCUDIA® CP-121 is high molecular weight, low density polyethylene compound designed for telephone and coaxial cables. This product provides a superior performance at high-speed extrusion together with a smooth surface finish of the cable. This grade contains a special stabilization system for protection against thermal and shear degradation during processing and it also contains a metal deactivator to ensure long-term ageing properties. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Solid insulation for telephone cables It is recommended a temperature profile between 150 - 220°C. Optimal processing conditions must be tuned for each production line, recommending to use filters and a break plate to increase the pressure in the cylinder and consequently improve the cable quality, homogenization and dispersion of pigments in the case of colored cable ALCUDIA® CP-121 meets the following specifications: ISO 1872 PE KHN 23D003; ASTM D 1248 I, A5, Grade E5; NF C 32-060 ISM1; VDE 0207 Teil 2 24I1.

ALCUDIA® PE003 is a low density polyethylene grade, produced by high pressure autoclave technology, suitable for blown or cast film applications. It is also used to make little containers by extrusion-blow moulding. This material offers easy processability and good balance of mechanical and optical properties. It does not contain any additives. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS - General packaging film and thin shrink film. - Lamination to different substrates (paper, aluminium foil, etc), with or without adhesive. - T Extrusion-blow moulding of up to 2 litres containers for contact with foodstuffs. Recommended melt temperature range from 150 to 180°C. Processing conditions should be optimised for each production line. ALCUDIA® PE-003 is a low density polyethylene developed for cross-linking by direct addition of organic peroxide or silanes. This grade has the following features: excellent processability, high cross-linking rate and smooth surface finish. This product does not contain additives, so antioxidant must be added. The nature and content of antioxidant ought to be treated carefully because of which should present minimum interference with the cross-linking reaction and ensure thermal stability. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Insulation of low voltage cables. The ALCUDIA® PE-003 processing conditions depend on the type of cable to be manufactured, kind of equipment used and cross-linking system. The use of filters and a break plate is recommended in order to increase pressure in the cylinder and to avoid contaminations that could decrease the final quality of the cable. ALCUDIA® PE-003 meets the following standards: ISO 1872 PE KN 18D022; ASTM D 1248 I, A3 Grade E5.

ALCUDIA® PE-004 is a natural and crosslinkable low density polyethylene specifically designed to be cross-linked by organic peroxide. The outstanding features of this grade are cleanliness, excellent processability, high efficiency of crosslinking, good mechanical properties and smooth surface finish. This grade does not contain antioxidant, therefore, it is necessary to add in proper balance of a non-staining antioxidant and peroxide to ensure thermal stability and optimum cure level.
