The resin also contains a metal deactivator to prevent degradation from copper while the cable is in service. Petrothene LR590001 meets the requirements of the following: ASTM D 1248-2, Type III, Class A, Category 4, Grades E8 and E9; Federal LP390C, Type II, Class H, Category 4, Grade 1; REA PE-22; REA PE-39.

Petrothene LR590005 is a high density resin selected by customers for use as primary insulation for electronic cables. This resin exhibits low shrinkback after extrusion, contains a lower level of antioxidant than LR590001, and is not suitable for the telecommunications applications for which LR590001 was formulated. Antioxidant has been added to LR590005 along with a metal deactivator to ensure thermal stability during processing and to prevent degradation from copper while the cable is in service. Petrothene LR590005 meets the requirements of the following: ASTM D 1248-2, Type III, Class A, Category 4, Grades E8 and E9; Federal LP390C, Type II, Class H, Category 4, Grade 1; REA PE-22; REA 7CFR 1755.390.

Chemically crosslinkable, high density polyethylene for injection molding Material SX739 is a silane grafted HDPE compound curable by exposure to moist conditions. SX739 is specifically designed for high output processing by conventional thermoplastic injection moulding. The graft component SX739 is mixed with a crosslinking catalyst masterbatch CM488/6 generally in the ratio 95:5. This material combines good flow, high rigidity and excellent notched impact strength. The two component system SX739:CM488/6 has high degree of crosslinking which gives it a useful strength at temperatures not usually reached by HDPE. These materials have been formulated for hot and cold water pressure pipes and are easily extrudable on conventional polyethylene extrusion lines.

In order to attribute the sustainable feedstock component to the final product, Versalis applies the Mass Balance approach, a recognized methodology that allows to trace the flow of materials along the value chain and to assign the sustainability characteristic of the raw material to the final product on a documentary basis. Pharmalene BC 82 PH BA provides the same chemical composition and physical-mechanical performance of the traditional grade in addition is accompaniesd by a sustainability declaration that certifies the share of bio attributed product. Pharmalene BC 82 PH BA is a high density polyethylene (HDPE, C-6 comonomers) with antioxidants, obtained by gas phase technology. It is produced in conformity to the good manufacturing practices (GMP) and is mainly used for extrusion and extrusion blown moulding. The production of Pharmalene BC 82 PH BA allows to contribute to the circular economy, since the bionaphtha used derives from renewable sourses (e.g. vegetable oils). Pharmalene BC 82 PH BA will be bio attributed for 95%. The exact amount of "bio attributed" product will be reported in the sustainability certificate issued upon delivery of the product.
