BPD 2070 is an unstabilised low density thermoplastic polyethylene. It is designed for use in medium voltage power cable one step silane crosslink insulation. BPD 2070 shows good electrical properties and good cleanliness. Provided suitable antioxidant is added by the user and proper processing conditions are adopted, BPD 2070 can be used as the base resin for a thermoplastic high voltage insulation compound. Adequate filtering might be necessary for this high voltage application.

BPD 2142 is an unstabilised low density polyethylene.
This material, when compounded with suitable additives, is designed for use in silane crosslinking processes. Its melt flow rate allows it to be processed with the two main silane technologies: Monosil (one-step process) and Sioplas (two-step process).
It has been developed for insulation of power cables up to 5 kV.

INEOS Wire & Cable BPD2167 | Europe |
BPD2167 is an unstabilised low density thermoplastic polyethylene. It is designed for use in "Câble de façade" application and one step silane crosslinking insulation.
A carefully selected carbon black and additives master batch needs to be added to BPD2167 to reach the final "Cable de Façade" formulation. The best performance in terms of homogeneity, aging and anchorage tests is however obtained with the fully formulated black compound BPD8167, to which only the Silane mixture needs to be added.

BPD 8128 is a high molecular weight low density polyethylene compound specially designed for crosslinking with silanes. It is a "non staining" Monosil® product that contains a controlled amount of metal-deactivator and antioxidant to provide the desired copper contact performance. BPD 8128 is widely used by cable manufacturers using a Silane® (one step) crosslinking process. Its major area of application is for the insulation of low voltage power cables.

ACCORDING TO ASTM D 1248:04, TC9008 IS IC-5 CLASSIFIED, E9 DEGREE, J4 E W4.
CAS REGISTRY NUMBER: 9002-88-4.
LDPE IS NOT A HYGROSCOPIC MATERIAL. HOWEVER, CARBON BLACK, WHICH IS USED AS AN ANTI-UV ADDITIVE, ABSORBS MOISTURE FROM THE
ENVIRONMENT. THEREFORE, ALL HDPE CONTAINING CARBON BLACK IN ITS COMPOSITION MUST BE DRIED BEFORE USE. THE DRYING PROCESS
MUST BE MADE AT LEAST FOR 2 HOURS AT 90°C. UNDER THESE CONDITIONS THE AMOUNT OF MOISTURE DECREASES TO VALUES THAT WILL NOT
INTERFERE IN THE PROCESSABILITY OF THE RESIN. THE USE OF THIS RESIN WITHOUT PREVIOUS DRYING MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS IN THE FINISHED
